Financial Director

We Are Hiring: Finance Director Alhasani Home Center is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the Finance Department at our headquarters in Baghdad. The successful candidate will oversee financial operations, strengthen financial controls, and support strategic business decisions. Position: Finance Director Location: Al-Yarmouk, Baghdad, Iraq Industry: Furniture and Home Furnishings Employment Type : Full-time / 6 days from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm Key Responsibilities: - Lead the Finance Department and oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial planning. - Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. - Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor financial performance, and analyze variances against approved budgets. - Manage cash flow and oversee payments, bank transfers, and bank and account reconciliations. - Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. - Oversee tax reporting and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations. - Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets. - Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely resolution of audit findings. - Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, and financial trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities. - Present periodic financial reports and actionable recommendations to the Board and relevant departments. - Develop the finance team and ensure clear responsibilities, accountability, and consistent performance. Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. - A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including experience in a senior financial leadership role. - Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls. - Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookup functions and PivotTables. - CPA or CMA certification is an advantage. - Membership in a recognized professional association of accountants and auditors is preferred. - Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
