Radio Frequency Optimization Engineer

We are hiring in the capacity of RF Optimization Engineer Position: RF Optimization Engineer – LTE/5G Role Overview Monitor, analyze, and improve radio network performance, primarily across LTE, with involvement in 5G optimization. The role focuses on coverage quality, service reliability, capacity utilization, and customer experience. Key Responsibilities Analyze network KPIs, including accessibility, retainability, mobility, throughput, radio quality, and resource utilization, to identify and prioritize performance issues. Investigate root causes using BTS counters, alarms, configuration data, drive test results, and UE logs, ensuring data accuracy and KPI consistency. Audit and optimize radio parameters, including idle mode mobility, handovers, neighbor relations, load balancing, and Carrier Aggregation. Investigate coverage gaps, interference, overshooting, and congestion, and recommend parameter changes, physical optimization, or capacity improvements. Investigate complaints escalated by Customer Care (CC), distinguish network related issues from UE capability or configuration problems, and follow corrective actions through to verified resolution. Collaborate with RF Planning on issues requiring PCI, PRACH, frequency, or other planning revisions, providing supporting analysis and validating results. Coordinate with Operations, Core, IP/Transmission to investigate and resolve E2E service performance issues. Support LTE/5G feature trials and assess performance following carrier additions, software upgrades, and network changes. Prepare and implement approved optimization actions with clear objectives and rollback criteria. Validate results through comparable before / after assessments, including the impact on neighboring cells. Document findings, actions, and results, and prepare regular performance reports. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline. Fresh graduates: Strong wireless communications and LTE/5G fundamentals, analytical ability, and willingness to learn. Relevant internships, projects, or training are an advantage. Experienced candidates: Preferably two or more years of RF optimization or RAN performance experience, with practical troubleshooting and KPI improvement skills. Understanding of LTE/5G architecture, radio procedures, and their impact on user experience. Knowledge of 5G NR SA/NSA is an advantage. Familiarity with performance tools and drive test or UE log analysis; practical proficiency is expected from experienced candidates. Experience with Nokia radio networks, parameters, and counters is an advantage. Good Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint. Python or Power BI knowledge is an advantage. Good communication, teamwork, problem solving, and reporting skills, with willingness to support field investigations when needed. Languages Proficiency in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.
