عن الوظيفة

Enjaz's GIS Department builds and operates QiMAP, the geospatial platform we deliver for Qi Card / International Smart Card. Its backend is Python end to end: a FastAPI service serving vector tiles, place search, geocoding and routing to the SuperQi wallet mini-app; a Django admin and analytics portal (transaction and user heatmaps, entitysearch, background jobs, Microsoft Entra SSO); and an event pipeline that consumes several million payment and location events a day from Kafka (AWS MSK) and signed webhooks into partitioned bronze/silver tables on Aurora PostgreSQL / PostGIS. Services share a common library, run as containers on AWS ECS Fargate with Redis,CloudFront and WAF in front, and are promoted through CodePipeline across DEV → UAT → PROD. The department also maintains the Python backends of the Iraq Post / Ministry of Communications platform suite. We are hiring a Backend Python Developer to design, build and operate these services with us — someone who is as comfortable reading an EXPLAIN ANALYZE plan on a 100-million-row partitioned table as they are shaping a clean API contract. Key responsibilities Design, implement and operate Python services: FastAPI endpoints, Django portal features and managementcommands, and Kafka consumers/producers — with tests, type hints, and code review as the default. Own the data layer: PostgreSQL/PostGIS schema design, time-partitioning and retention, indexing strategy, and query tuning with EXPLAIN; write migrations that respect the schema contract between the services that share a database and deploy without downtime. Evolve the event pipeline: raw → normalised transforms, idempotent upserts, back-pressure and lag handling,reprocessing/backfill from the S3 archive, and per-event cost discipline at millions of events per day. Build geospatial features: MVT tile generation and caching, geocoding and reverse-geocoding, spatial search ranking, routing integration (OSRM), and grid/heatmap aggregations that stay fast at national scale. Engineer for security and privacy: pseudonymisation and vaulting of personal data, role-scoped access, JWT/OIDC flows, HMAC-signed webhooks, secrets in AWS Secrets Manager, and OWASP-aware coding throughout. Make services observable and operable: structured logging, CloudWatch metrics and alarms defined as code, runbook entries, and participation in post-deployment production watches. Deliver through the department's PR-based flow (feature branches into protected DEV, promotions to UAT and PROD), keeping pipelines green and writing short QA records for each change. Collaborate with frontend, UI/UX, QA and DevOps engineers, and with the client's integration team on event schemas and API contracts. Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of professional Python backend development, including production experience with FastAPI or Django(both a plus). Strong SQL and hands-on PostgreSQL: indexing, query plans, transactions and locking, migrations on live systems. Solid grasp of HTTP/REST API design, authentication (JWT, OAuth2/OIDC), and asynchronous Python (asyncio). Experience with Docker, Linux, and Git PR-based workflows with CI checks; habit of writing automated tests (pytest / Django test runner). Ability to reason about performance and cost — from a single query to a service under sustained load. Strong working English for code, pull requests and documentation; Arabic is a plus. Preferred qualifications PostGIS / GeoAlchemy2, spatial indexing, and vector-tile (MVT) or routing-engine experience. Kafka or other streaming/event-driven systems; idempotency and exactly-once patterns. AWS: ECS Fargate, Aurora, ElastiCache/Redis, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, CodePipeline; infrastructure as code(CloudFormation). Experience at 100M+ row scale: partitioning, aggregation/rollup tables, caching strategies. Fintech, payments or other regulated-data environments; familiarity
