Teller – أمين صندوق Location: Baghdad, Iraq Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Branch Network Reporting To: Teller Supervisor About the Role Bank of Baghdad is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Teller to join its Branch Network team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing daily cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cheque processing. The role requires strict adherence to the Bank's policies, operational procedures, internal controls, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, ensuring excellent customer service while maintaining the accuracy and security of cash operations. Key Responsibilities Receive customers and process cash deposits and withdrawals accurately and efficiently. Execute internal and external transfers in accordance with approved procedures and authorization limits. Handle cheques, including cashing, deposits, and verification of authenticity. Receive and deliver cash within approved authorization limits. Perform daily cash reconciliation and ensure the accuracy of cash balances. Provide prompt and professional customer service in accordance with the Bank's approved service quality standards. Respond to customer inquiries related to cash transactions. Direct customers to the relevant departments within the branch when necessary. Verify customer identities and ensure the accuracy and completeness of required documents before processing transactions. Comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. Report suspicious transactions to the Teller Supervisor or relevant Compliance personnel. Record all banking transactions accurately and promptly in the Bank's approved banking systems. Maintain the security and safekeeping of cash and related documents in accordance with established security procedures. Ensure that the cash drawer is never left open or unattended. Verify the authenticity of banknotes using available counterfeit detection tools. Report any cash discrepancies, including shortages or excesses, to the Teller Supervisor. Handle damaged and counterfeit banknotes in accordance with the Bank's approved policies and procedures. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in cash handling or banking operations. Skills & Competencies: Strong customer service and effective communication skills. High level of accuracy when handling cash and performing numerical calculations. Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Strong attention to detail and ability to prevent errors. Good knowledge of banking systems and transaction processing procedures. Good understanding of operational controls and cash handling procedures. High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
